ACS Relay For Life

On July 23rd & 24th I will be walking in the 24 hour American Cancer Society "Relay for Life" I will be walking in honour of my Grandma who died just over a year ago from cancer. I wouldn't normally do this, but I am asking my friends to donate towards my walk. You can donate as little as $1.00, any little bit helps! Also, if there is anybody you know who is fighting cancer or has been lost to the disease, I can put their name on a luminary that will be lit and placed around the field which I will be walking. Again ANY help would be appreciated. If you can do ANYTHING to help, checks must be to me no later than the 20th of July (just to be safe). Checks can be made out to the American Cancer Society, with my name in the comment line so they know who to credit the amoungt to. I thank you in advance for your help in the fight to find a cure.

I just got done doing Scott's hair. Even w/ only 3 hours of sleep last nite, I think it will come out AWSOME! In Germany, they sell the blues, purples and reds that in America are only semi-permanant, but these are permanent. I colored most of his hair a deep blue w/ brighter blue tips, can't wait to see it! Next, I will be doing mine a brilliant purple w/ hot pink bangs. At the moment, I look more like a marigold, but that will change, and soon!

Speaking of Germany, it was AMAZING, Scott did a brilliant job finding our hotel in the BEST possible location, it was a nice room, but if you read his LJ, I will spare you the details as he's already mentioned those. I was excited to meet up w/ Merrick and Robert at the airport and ride the plane from Frankfurt to Berlin w/ them and then the train to Leipzig. I regret we didn't see more of them while we were there, but we saw each other from time to time, they went to more of the goth bands while I stuck to my Synthpop. We spent most of our time w/ my friend Marc, he and I met on LJ because we had mutual LJ friends and had both been to M'era Luna so we had been talking regularly for almost a year and he decided he could take time off work to join us at WGT. He speaks German pretty well and knows the train and bus systems in Leipzig so he was a big help, not to mention lots of fun. I got some awsome shoes that I had back when I was in 9th grade, the really pointy ones w/ bat buckles, cute and inexpensive, but my vinyl shirt, which is too amazing to describe is my favorite find. I loved being w/ Scott w/ his project, he's been so busy, I hadn't seen much of him. We walked around, didn't get to see much of Leipzig as we spent most of our time at the festival. I can't believe the size of it, it was almost scary to think of it, but once we got there, we settled in nicely. I even took a train and a BUS (I have a phobia) by myself to see Melotron and De/Vision, they were great, De/Vision is TOTALLY different live, like not even the same band almost, but still great. OK, I've rambled on enough...end transmission.

I haven't posted in a long while, I've got no excuse other than laziness! I'm currently unemployed, just got over surgery to repair a badly broken nose, then broke my right hand. Scott and I celebrated our 1 year wedding anniversary just under a month ago, we spent it in LA going to see Moz, then we went to Disneyland w/ Erik and Jenz, then the next weekend we went to Coachella. Next Wednesday we leave for Germany for Wave Gotik Treffen can't wait for that! I hope to have my cast off in time. I'm hoping when Scott is done w/ his game we'll be moving back to SoCal. I'd love to work at EFilm with Jenz, but if not, I will be attending beauty school. My mom and grandpa have agreed to help with the cost of school, so that'll help alot. I will miss the friends I've made in SF, but LA is my home and I miss everyone there more than words can express. Well that's all for now!

Well I got a new job working for HP in San Rafael, I work right by Scott now, it's an actual human job, not retail monkey work. I work M-F 8-5, since I'm now driving across the GG Bridge, I had to get a car, so today I picked up my beautiful red and black Mini Cooper! It's perfect for the city because it's small, and since I myself am mini, what other car could I get?

Why couldn't my cat chase after the mostquitos last nite instead of the moths. Moths don't eat me alive in my sleep! I can't wait til next week. 3 concerts in 1 week, when added up don't make much sense, the KROQ thing with all my fave 80's bands, well not all of them, but Duran Duran back together, and getting to see The Cure and The Psychedelic Furs again, Fischerspooner and Radiohead. I also got tix to see Marilyn Manson at the Warfield, that should be fun we got floor tix, I'll be lucky to go home without serious bodily injury! Scott remember NIN?

I haven't posted in FOREVER! I thought I should mention a little trip I just got back from though! I went to M'era Luna in Germany last week! Germany is amazing, I think I could live there if I could get used to the food! The language is kind of hard too, but I say sorry, thanks and I don't speak German really well! I don't understand the way they dance either, they kind of fan their hineys whilst trying not to fall over backwards! I'm stomping away totally getting the fuzzy eyeball from half the crowd at the club Scott and I went to the Tuesday nite before we left. The festival itself although dusty, hot and then muddy, was AWSOME! Though Subway to Sally SCARED THE HELL OUT OF ME! I was in the 5th row for their show which I guess is German Death Metal because APOP came on right after them and my plan was to weasel my way up to the front for them (which I happily managed to do) everyone around me during STS was screaming and singing along and I'm just standing there trying not to get shot in the face by the fire hoses! Melotron, Mesh and Neuroticfish were great as was Project Pitchfork. Though anyone who knows me understands I was there to see APOP and although I didn't pee myself, I was so happy to see them at this amazing festival of 20,000 people the thought did cross my mind. In the heat, I decided I needed the fluids! During APOP the bouncer guys gave us water and I managed to get shot in the face by the fire hoses on more than one occasion, once shooting my do rag right off my head! But being in the front, I was grateful for a little cooling down, though they got a little extreme! I met the only other person in my vicinity that spoke english and I was happy about that because I was getting lonely not understanding what anyone said and Scott wasn't in the front with me. She came from Norway to see APOP. It was Stephan's b-day too and we sang happy birthday to him (in English thank god!) So, now I'm off to do the laundry from the trip so I will have clothes to wear out this weekend.

I'm in Santa Maria with my family after being in the hospital twice over the weekend with broken kidneys. I found out yesterday that I needed to come to SM to see my grandma before she passed away, I didn't go to the hospital because it was 11:30 at nite when I got here and she died an hour after Scott and I arrived. I didn't find out until 6:30 this morning when my mom woke up and told me. I'm glad kind of that she didn't wake me up when it happened, cause I didn't really want to see her after she died, I guess she had really deteriorated and I got to see her when she was still the person I knew when we came down a few weeks ago to see her. I would have felt bad actually telling my grandpa I didn't want to go with him to see her though. It sucks that I've only been at my new job 3 weeks and now I'm taking a week off plus the wedding is in a few weeks and I'm taking time off for that. At least he's really understanding, he even rode my scooter home from work because I'd left it there when I went to the hospital. The funeral is Saturday, Scott just left to go back to SF to work and take care of the kitties. He's coming back Friday evening, he's so great, he's really been here for me. Sorry this post rambles...

Well, I have good news, my mom has decided (thanks to Scott) to skip her belly dancing performance and come to the wedding, which by the way has been changed to Saturday, April 26th at 2pm. But I just found out my grandma has been in the hospital since last fucken Sunday. I'm not a child, why doesn't anyone from my family call and tell me these things! Am I going to find out she's passed away AFTER the funeral arrangements have been made? God, I want to be there to say goodbye, but how can I be when no one will tell me what's going on!

Hey all, I know that many people who were actually thinking of going to our wedding at C9 are not going to be able to make it because of the date change. I'm sad, but understand. I'm trying to contact the place to change it to Saturday, but when Scott called they were all booked up. My other idea is to have a belated reception somewhere in LA so that people can go and wish us well, or whatever... Bad news of the day, the dog I've had since I was 15 (Spike the pooder (poodle-terrier) got put to sleep today and my grandma is fading fast. I'm glad that I'm going to get to see my mom today and spend the weekend with her and I get to visit with Monica (Spidey) as well, those belly dancers! Sorry I've not posted in a while, I've been tired from my new job. That's what I get for not working in a while!

It's been a while since I've posted, but I actually got a job! It's not a great job, it's at Kinko's, but I knew if I applied I'd get the job, I actually got 3 offers and didn't go to the 4th interview because I decided which place I wanted to work, the place 3 minutes from my house where the freaky Kinkoids work (I'm serious)So far so good, not too much knee pain from standing most of the day, but I get to work in the office most of the morning so that's a good break for me. Someone at work today told me that there is a law in SF that you can't be discriminated against for having tattoos or piercings or weird hair (huh, has anyone else heard this?) I was wondering, even tho the Kinko's I worked at in Century City was VERY cool about me looking the way I wanted to, none of the other locations have been. I went in with a facial piercing expecting the manager to tell me, you've got the job, but take that thing out of your face. But no, I guess it's not a big deal, so yeah, maybe I'll celebrate by putting pink streaks in my hair!

My Job and My Love

I went yesterday to meet with my new boss Jesper (he's from Denmark) I found out my hours, which for a non-morning person, suck! I work 7:30am - 3:30pm Sunday - Thursday. Living in such a small apartment I think working on Sundays will be ok as it will give Scott some time to himself. He and I have been getting along so well lately, I don't think I've ever been happier with him. I'll admit I was screwed up towards the end of my time in Seattle and did some REALLY stupid things, but it made me appreciate Scott so much more. I honestly cannot wait to marry him, I hope as many of our friends can be there as possible, because all of you have helped us along the way!

Thanks to everyone for the congrats on my new job! Also, I've had a few people ask if Scott and I are registered anywhere for wedding gifts. To be quite honest, we haven't had the time, so, gift certificates for Target or Bed Bath & Beyond would be great, especially those who want to get us something at the Vegas wedding, that way we won't have to carry too much home on the plane. For those who want to be creative, well, that's cool too!

I got a job!

Not that I haven't enjoyed being lazy, I felt it was time for me to get a job. Besides, I need to get Scott a wedding ring and can't do that without an income. I applied for four jobs (all in the copy business, yuck) and got offered 3 of the 4 I applied for. I declined to interview for the last one. There is actually kind of a punk rock Kinko's a few blocks from my house and my manager is a cool Danish guy, so that's the one I'm going to take! Scott has been more than great taking such good care of me, I'm not used to that and I think it's time I pull my weight around here! I go in tomorrow to fill out the paperwork and find out what my schedule is, yeah! So wish me luck! I guess I'm lucky in the job department, I only started applying last two weeks ago and already got a pretty decent position! If you can call Asst. Manager of Kinko's a good job!
